About
The Asheville Local of the War Resisters League, was founded in 1999. Members have long been on the ground in the Southeast working for justice and peace and defending the Earth. We work locally and throughout the Southeast U.S. providing nonviolence trainings, hosting speakers and other events and maintaining collaborative connections with allied groups. Members are available for speaking venues throughout the Southeast. Our blog is written and edited by WRL Asheville members Coleman Smith and Clare Hanrahan
WRL is the United States’ oldest secular pacifist organization, the War Resisters League has been resisting war at home and war abroad since 1923. Our work for nonviolent revolution has spanned decades and has been shaped by the new visions and strategies of each generation’s peacemakers.

Hello and thanks for this terrific newsletter and more!
Please let me know where is the address/contact info on this as I want to order copies of the newspaper and send a contribution.
Also, I need to know who there are committed to being an active part of Western Carolinians Stop Torture Now? (the meetings won’t be often – mostly networking). We are already connected to NC Stop Torture Now and have at least four committed participants/members.
IF anyone has any information regarding CIA – Rendition airplanes reportedly or verified by date – description coming through western NC skies, please let me know. 828 884-9467
Some of you may want to help me form a “Down the Drones or Reap the Whirlwinds” protest for Brevard or Asheville. This would preferably need to take place a time other than Tuesday if possible. If Saturday from 12-1 would work, we may incorporate this in our weekly peace gathering (in front of Transylvania Co. Courthouse – downtown Brevard on Main street – going on 6 plus years by now.

http://www.oneheartforpeace.blogspot.com (notice the huge concerns going on & how the Pakistani blogs and press are terribly upset about US/Pakistani approach to killing the Talibani & endangering, ruining so many civilians lives.
Please pass on some of these posts to encourage cooperation with Pakistanis who want peace, justice and cooperation and often know little to nothing about peace efforts in the US.

Thanx again for the faithful work you are doing for peace!
